Why Can’t We Be Friends?

Just a thought lang naman baka hindi ko na itutuloy ang birthday party ko sa sobra ng sama ng loob ko sa mga taong i consider “friends” pero tuloy pa rin dapat ang kasiyahan dyan kahit wala ako. this is for you guys.

Sa mga nadistract sa personality ko, ewan ko ba kung bakit affected kayo. i am not starting a fight nor a war but made this forum to be able to gather all my family members, relatives and some friends.

Alam nyo na siguro sino talaga ako by now. i am just an instrument na magkaroon pa ng maraming memorable and happy get together of which i really love to do. saan kaya ako nagkakamali? bakit ba ganyan? tao lang ako, hindi si darna.

Let me clarify also that you are always welcome to join the fun and can leave anytime the forum if you feel you’re not comfortable with me anymore. sa umpisa ang ganda ng pakikisama,pakikitungo pero sa huli, aatras at aakusahan na ako that i made them feel uncomfortable and for me, what matters most is, meron pa rin naman sigurong nagmamahal sa akin for who really am. Do No Think That I Am “Mikey”, ewan ko ba ang meaning nyan, kakashocked talaga ,ever.

Napansin ko lang kasi na maraming nanunumbat, nananakit na sa akin which to my great shocked, ako pa ang lalabas na masama. kung alam nyo rin sana kung anong nafefeel ko, it’s not always fun kaya but i try to make everybody happy, have fun all the time and create an aura of respect.

“Major Major,” now an increasingly popular coinage among Filipinos thanks to Miss Philippines and Ms Universe 2010 4th Runner Up Ma. Venus Raj, is a case of first language interference in Philippine English. Repeating a word to intensify its meaning is one of the internal processes in most Philippine languages, e.g. “bonggang bongga,” “saya-saya,” “tuwang-tuwa,”. This must have prompted Raj to say the word “major” twice to achieve that semantic effect, as she responded to the crucial question at the pageant. While it is clear it cost her the crown, she represented our country very well up to the last minute and remained true to her national identity. And that makes a real beauty!

She lives in a province, sort of your rural America or the boonies. The house she lives in is a simple thatched-roof hut made of bamboo and wood, located in the middle of the rice paddies. Her immediate support are her family, friends, and relatives. She was born illegitimate. In the Philippine society, it is still a stigma. She strives to do her best to study hard and succeed in life. Let’s stop bashing about what or how Venus answered the final question. Ok, maybe that’s where she faltered and got it wrong, kayo man ang lumagay sa katayuan nya baka you did the worst.

Let’s all be proud and contented with her placement. Getting into the TOP 15 is hard enough, what more yung TOP 5?

And yes, Venus did put our country again in the headlines aside from the hostage crisis that happened yesterday.. SO LETS ALL BE PROUD AND HAPPY FOR HER. VENUS RAJ was an excellent representative for the Philippines. She did everything right from DAY 1.

Now we know what Miss Universe is looking for. TO BPCI, please continue the streak with our future delegates…THIS IS A GOOD START for PHILIPPINE PAGEANTRY.”

The Philippines last won the Miss Universe title way back in 1973 when Margie Moran took the title. But the first Filipina to win the crown was Gloria Diaz in 1969.

Prior to Venus’ fifth-place finish, the last time the Philippines placed in the Miss Universe was in 1999 when Mirian Quiambao was named first runner-up.

Venus’ road to Miss Universe was not an easy one.

After winning as Bb. Pilipinas-Universe on March 6, 2010, she was dethroned by the Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) because of “inconsistencies in her birth records.” But the decision was reversed on April 10, 2010 and Venus, who was born in Doha, Qatar, was reinstated as the country’s representative to the Miss Universe.

Three days before the Miss Universe pageant, Venus lost a very close friend. Bb. Pilipinas-International 2009 Melody Gersbach was killed in a vehicular accident in Camarines Sur. It was actually Melody who convinced Venus to join Binibining Pilipinas.

Venus, who hails from Bato, Camarines Sur, is a veteran of beauty pageants. She first won the title Miss Bicolandia in 1997. The following year, 2008, Venus was named Miss Earth Philippines Eco-Tourism. This year, she won Bb. Pilipinas-Universe.

Malacañang welcomes the fourth runner-up finish of Venus Raj in the Miss Universe Beauty Pageant in Las Vegas, saying her “success…is a bright spot in an otherwise sad day for our country,” an official said Tuesday.

Many folks think I joined FB to promote my website, http://www.mikeygatal.com. It’s true that it has become a wonderful social networking tool, but business savvy was not my motivation. Other folks think I did it because it gives me a chance to instantly say what I “like” or a venue to “comment” on other people’s posts. I confess, I DO like doing that. People I will never meet still get to hear my opinion on things. They may or may not care about my viewpoint, but they get my opinion none-the-less.

However, the real reason I joined was so I could find out how my nieces, nephews and family members are doing. I treasure friendships, but the kinships I developed that were forged while working toward the greater good are even more valuable. In addition to the camaraderie and genuine caring that comes with having a great pal, another benefit is they can help keep you on the right track.

We all face challenges. I am no exception. We can succumb to our weaknesses, or we can rise above them. We can withdraw from the world when we are in pain, or we can offer a helping hand to someone who is even worse off than we are.

Here is my advice. The next time you read about a friend on Facebook who is suffering, pick up the phone and call them. Better yet, make an invitation to see them in person. Facebook and My Space are great connecting tools, but they can’t replace the joy of hearing a friendly voice or feeling a warm hug.

I hope the message continues to percolate through your heart and evokes a friendly reaction.

Line Dancing

Many of my friends would like to dance and burn their fats away. Line Dancing is very popular here in america and in every party that i attended to, they would ask me to lead. Here is their love story shared by Jennifer Chi:

The summer before I went to law school, I decided to travel down to Mexico to do some volunteer work at a shelter for women. One day, while checking my email in a computer cafe, a handsome stranger sat down next to me. After watching me for a few moments, he told me he had never seen anyone type so fast in his entire life! He was traveling through the country and was scheduled to head back to Norway in 3 days. He ended up staying 3 weeks longer in order to spend time with me.

Nils first proposed marriage at my graduation ceremony in 2006, and he has proposed every year since then. After 7 years of traveling across oceans and continents to build our relationship, we are finally ready to be known as husband and wife. It certainly wasn’t easy, but we made it work. Whether I was on a project on an island in Indonesia or in the mountains of Tibet, Nils always found me.

With busy personal lives, jobs that sent us to faraway lands, and critics doubting us along the way, we could have just given up. But we knew this love was bigger than all of that….

Thank you for joining us today in celebrating a marriage that truly exemplifies the power of love.

To be loved deeply by someone gives you strength; to love someone deeply gives you courage.
